This course is for the Field Guide that wants to expand their skills and knowledge and enter the most satisfying and exciting aspect of being a guide , that of becoming a Trails Guide. 

Trails Guides conduct experiences on foot in dangerous game country. This requires a new set of skills and further knowledge.

This course is designed to meet those needs and more.

During the course time will be spent in lectures as well as the maximum time spent on foot conducting encounters with the High Profile animals.

Rifle Handling knowledge and skills will also be covered in order to prepare you for the Advanced Rifle handling Exam and Practical Assessment.

The subjects covered during the course include but are not limited to the following:

  • Dangerous Animal Knowledge

  • What to carry on Trail

  • The role of the Back Up guide

  • Incident Management

  • Wilderness Concept

  • Ethics

  • Ballistics

  • Practical Skills applied when approaching Dangerous Game
